The usual way to feed is one hand holding the food jar, the other hand reaching in, eyes on your hands. The moment you want to net out a fallen leaf or turn the filter outlet, you need somewhere to put the jar down — the tank lid is slippery and tips easily, the table is out of reach, the floor means bending. The familiar outcome is dumping it all in at once and walking away, which loses the most valuable part of feeding.
A tray clipped to the rim fixes exactly that. The food sits at hand height, right beside the tank you are feeding, hanging on the outside so nothing drops into the water. Both your hands stay free for the whole session — that is the entire point of this thing.
Why it is split instead of one big well
Two wells let you carry two foods in one hand. A feeding session is rarely one item: pellets are the main course, but blanched greens, algae wafers or a supplement usually come along — each at a different amount, and none of them should share a scoop.
Splitting the tray also lets you alternate. Drop a little of the main food, wait for the colony to come out, then add the second food in another corner so the smaller shrimp have somewhere to get in. Both stay within reach; no walking back for a second jar.
One well for pellets or pressed food — the main course. The other for blanched greens, algae wafers or a supplement, the things you only add a little of.
Use one well as the pre-measured portion for this tank and the other for the next one. Two tanks in one round with no re-measuring in between.
The clip slides over the rim, the tray hangs outside
The clip is printed as one piece with the tray and slides down over the rim. The body of the tray sits entirely outside the tank, so nothing falls into the water and it never touches the surface even on a full tank. Clip it where you like and it stays there until you take it off.
The standard clip takes glass up to 8 mm, which covers most shrimp tanks in Vietnam: 30–60 cm tanks are usually 5 mm, 60–90 cm tanks usually 8 mm. Larger tanks, thick tempered glass or tanks with a rim trim — message the farm with the measurement. The clip is a separate printed detail, so we adjust it to your tank at the same price.

Measure the rim exactly where you intend to clip it, not the tank's nominal thickness. If there is a plastic trim or a brace bar, measure that too. Over 8 mm, send us the number on Zalo/Messenger and we print the clip to your tank.
Clip it on the side you stand at, on your dominant-hand side, clear of the lid and the light legs. Because the tray sits outside the tank you do not need to avoid the filter flow — you only need it comfortably within reach.

Five steps, once is enough to learn it
Rinse before first use
Run it under clean water to wash off print dust, then wipe dry. No soaking, no soap.
Portion both wells
Main food in one well, the second food in the other. Measure at the cabinet before you walk to the tank — that is the whole reason to carry a tray.
Clip it to the rim
Slide the clip down on your dominant-hand side, clear of the lid and the light. Press gently until it seats over the full glass thickness.
Feed, and do everything else
Add a little at a time. Between drops, watch the colony, net out a leaf, pick up a moult, adjust the outlet — your hands are free.
Unclip, dry, stack
Tip leftovers back into the jar, wipe the tray dry and nest it with the others. Storing it damp is the one way to make it smell.
The only three things to remember
The tray is used dry, so most of the time a wipe is enough. If blanched greens or fresh food have stuck to it, rinse in clean water and let it dry fully before nesting — storing it damp is the only thing that makes it smell.
The tray is designed to sit outside the water. Do not drop it into the tank or use it as a submerged feeding dish — that is not what it is for, and long immersion is hard on the clip.
Warm tap water is fine. Do not pour boiling water on it or leave it in harsh direct sun — printed plastic can warp, and a warped clip no longer grips the right glass thickness.
Why we print it instead of importing it
The tray is printed at the farm in PETG — a stiffer, tougher printing plastic than the entry-level filament, which matters for the clip, since the clip takes the load every time you mount and remove it. We print gear for our own tanks first, and only what has held up for months goes on the shop.
Because it is made to order there is no shelf stock: you order, we print within 2–4 days, test the clip, then pack it. In exchange we can size the clip to your tank without a minimum order.
